Symptoms of Depression

Symptoms of depressive disorders can include:

  • emotional symptoms such as:
    • sadness
    • guilt
    • apathy or boredom
    • irritability
    • low motivation
    • anxiety
    • lack of pleasure in life
  • cognitive symptoms such as:
    • mental dullness
    • difficulty concentrating
    • difficulty remembering
    • thoughts about death or suicide
  • and physical symptoms such as:
    • changes in appetite or weight
    • low energy or fatigue
    • headaches and/or upset stomach
    • sleep disruption
    • slowed movements or speech
